Importance of Cleaning
Keep Safe and Save
We offer chimney cleaning services in Bradford, Leeds and across Yorkshire. Chimneys should be regularly swept, particularly if you are burning solid fuels. Ensuring the chimney system (i.e. the fire / stove, the chimney and any connecting pipe) is regularly inspected is very important. It lessens the chance of carbon monoxide poisoning, keeps your heating efficient and avoids the likelihood of chimney fires.
It is recommended that chimneys are swept at least annually and by a competent person and all our staff are City & Guilds qualified.
All quotations are free and without obligation and usually a description of the property and numbers of chimneys, flues etc. is enough to provide an instant quotation. However, should a site survey be required they are free, without obligation and can be carried out at a time to suit you.
We are renowned for providing a fair price for a great job. So if you are looking for a Bradford Chimney Sweep or a based anywhere in Yorkshire then look no further. Simply fill our contact form and we’ll get right back to you or simply call 01274 571482 now.
Improve Efficiency
Flue Lining
Flue lining is usually required when the existing chimney no longer operates correctly. In houses built prior to 1965 this is very common. The hot combustion products produced over time together with the harsh cold British temperatures can cause mortar to crack and crumble. In addition if the coals and tars produced have condensed and built up on the inside of the chimney parging then staining of the chimney breast can occur.
Highly inefficient flues can also cause rapid water ingress through the property. When any of these conditions exist then installing flue lining can be the simplest remedial action to take.
Part J of the building regulations state that a flexible metal flue-liner must be installed completely within a masonry chimney. Non masonry constructions housing the liner, such as plasterboard or timber box section, are not acceptable.
It is important to use a competent specialist, our engineers are approved and our consultants are always on hand and happy to advise on your particular project.
There are two classes of flue liner: Class 1 for wood and solid fuel fires and stoves and Class 2 for gas appliances.
Class 1: Flexible steel liners are the most common method of lining an existing chimney that is used for wood or solid fuel fires. Prior to installing such a liner the chimney should be swept first. Most liner manufacturers guarantees are dependent upon the chimney being swept before installation.
Class 2: Class 2 flexible metal liners can be confused with Class 1. They are lighter and much cheaper. It is important therefore to use a professional installer when lining your chimney.
